Lockdown 6.7 – Mandatory vaccinations

Dear brothers and sisters

We bring you some updates of information.

Moorabool Shire

Moorabool Shire is in lockdown from tonight. Churches and church groups in this shire cannot meet in person but must adhere to the same restrictions as greater Melbourne, apart from the curfew.

Mandatory vaccination for authorised workers

The government has announced that authorised workers must have a first dose of vaccine by 15 October and a second dose by 26 November.

This includes everyone involved in broadcasting church services (those in the group of up to five people allowed), those leading or assisting at funerals, and for those acting as wedding celebrants, only if one or both of the couple are at end of life or facing deportation. The Vicar or person responsible, must check the vaccination status. We expect a template for recording this in due course. We encourage clergy who will not be vaccinated to contact other clergy for funerals and weddings and ensure their bishop knows.
